At Honda, we are motivated
by dreams, and thrill to the challenge of making them come true. From our earliest
days, Honda has risen to the challenge of racing. We have known the incomparable
thrill of victory, and it has turned to ever-stronger determination to win again.
That's why our spirit of challenge knows no bounds. Sharing the excitement of
motor sports with more and more Honda fans - it's a dream that drives us on.
This season once again, Honda's
name is being written in the record books of motorcycle racing. From the pinnacles
of WGP, WMX and WCT to
the Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Race, we've been waving the victory flag all year.
Ever since our first entry into Formula One racing in 1964, Honda has collected
a wealth of honors. 2003 marks the fourth year in Honda's third era of Formula
One racing and we're propelling the two-car B.A.R. team with a new RA003E, a lighter,
more compact engine is showing remarkably improved power and torque outputs. This
year also signals Honda's entry into the IndyCar series as an engine supplier.
Run exclusively on oval courses, IndyCar racing represents a new challenge for
Honda Performance Development (HPD) and technical partner Illmor Engineering,
joint developers of the new HI3R-type V8 engine supplied to five cars on three
teams.Honda is also supporting the 'Formula Dream' series as a training ground
for the Formula One drivers of tomorrow.
Always seeking to bring motor
sports closer to its fans, Honda has established a tradition of providing facilities
for watching and even participating in races. Opened in 1961 as the first truly
world-class circuit in Japan, Suzuka not only hosts Formula One and other leading
international races, but also events like the Integra One-Make Race, reserved
for Integra production models. Twin Ring Motegi now also holds elite international
races on its oval and road courses. Catering not only to motorsports enthusiasts
who like to watch races, Honda gives budding racers the opportunity to get out
on the track and experience the thrill of the race firsthand.
