World Motocross Championship 250cc, Round 4, France
Coppins and Beirer Finish Third and Fourth |
Pit Beirer took the
hole-shot before slipping to 4th position after an early fall, but then
a made a powerful challenge to climb back up to 3rd with only two laps to
go. As the leaders entered the last lap, Joshua Coppins, lying just behind,
passed Beirer and held on to cross the finish line in 3rd ahead of Beirer
in 4th. This result lifted both riders one place up the championship rankings,
Coppins to 2nd and Beirer to 3rd.
Meanwhile, Andrea Bartolini moved up to 3rd place in the 500cc standings
with a 4th place finish.
