Honda has developed the Earth Dreams Technology series, innovative next-generation technologies which further advance engines, transmissions and electromotive technologies to achieve both driving performance and fuel efficiency at a higher level. Starting with the N BOX, Honda intends to apply these technologies to the new Accord to be launched in North America and then in stages to a variety of other models. In addition, Honda plans to launch the battery-electric vehicle, Fit EV, in North America and Japan in the summer of 2012. At auto shows around the world, Honda has been presenting a variety of concept models including the NSX Concept and the Acura RLX Concept, which come equipped with a new high-efficiency and high-power hybrid system as well as the EV-STER, a next-generation electric small sports concept model. Honda will continue to present models that propose a new type of fun in driving automobiles which offer outstanding environment performance.
The engine remains the core player with the motor assisting only when higher fuel use is required such as starting or accelerating. This is the IMA (Integrated Motor Assist) system, a light and compact system that delivers agile driving.

Adhering to the fundamental belief of Respect for the Individual, Honda has always produced cars that place the utmost priority on safety. Boasting the world's first indoor, omni-directional crash-test safety facility, Honda conducts research on collision safety technology each day in a full range of actual situations that simulate real-world conditions.
