Honda Sets All-Time Monthly Records for Automobile Worldwide Production and Production Outside of Japan
April 25, 2012 – Honda Motor Co., Ltd. announced a summary of automobile production, Japan domestic sales, and export results for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2012 as well as for the month of March 2012.

Production in Japan, in regions outside of Japan, and worldwide production for the Fiscal Year 2012 experienced a year-on-year decrease for the first time in two years respectively (since Fiscal Year 2010).
March 2012
Production in Japan for the month of March 2012 experienced a year-on-year increase for the fourth consecutive month (since December 2011).
Production in regions outside of Japan experienced a year-on-year increase for the second consecutive month (since February 2012), setting an all-time monthly record. This includes all-time monthly records for production in North America and USA.
Worldwide production experienced a year-on-year increase for the third consecutive month (since January 2012), setting an all-time monthly record.

New vehicle registrations experienced a year-on-year decrease for the second consecutive year (since Fiscal Year 2011).
Sales of mini-vehicles experienced a year-on-year increase for the first time in five years (since Fiscal Year 2007).

Fit was the industry's second best-selling car among new vehicle registrations for the Fiscal Year 2012, with sales of 234,432 units. Freed was the industry's fifth best-selling car with sales of 90,414 units.
<Mini-vehicles - under 660 cc>
Life was the industry's seventh best-selling car among mini-vehicles for the Fiscal Year 2012, with sales of 64,511 units. N BOX was the industry's tenth best-selling car with sales of 47,329 units.

Honda's automobile sales in the Japanese market for the month of March 2012 experienced a year-on-year increase for the third consecutive month (since January 2012).
New vehicle registrations experienced a year-on-year increase for the seventh consecutive month (since September 2011).
Sales of mini-vehicles experienced a year-on-year increase for the third consecutive month (since January 2012).

Fit was the industry's second best-selling car among new vehicle registrations for the month of March 2012 with sales of 34,161 units. Freed was the industry's fifth best-selling car with sales of 16,257 units.
<Mini-vehicles - under 660 cc>
N BOX was the industry's fifth best-selling car in the mini-vehicle category for the month of March 2012 with sales of 19,213 units. Life was the industry's eighth best-selling car with sales of 8,495 units.
